Having spent most of my life working in a legal setting, you would think that I could easily create a list of issues to consider when hiring an attorney. I’m sad to say, not so. It’s one of those things where you focus on the technical aspects of a situation while overlooking the obvious, common-sense advice that most people need.
Thankfully Polly Brewster did not fall into my trap. She has laid out 5 common sense mistakes that new entrepreneurs should avoid when hiring an attorney. Though 1 thru 3 were familiar to me, numbers 4 and 5 had never even crossed my mind; but they are both incredibly practical. Ms. Brewster’s recommendations are so essential, I consider this article to be mandatory reading for anyone who’s on the market for an attorney.
